GNB collaborated closely with the client and architect to create a functional walk-in mudroom, accommodating both kids and pets. Additionally, a home office was introduced, featuring corner windows that flood the space with natural light, enhancing the home’s overall ambiance.
The kitchen portion of the renovation presented challenges, but it was essential for improving both functionality and aesthetics. To maintain the original charm of the home during this home remodeling in Highland Park, the design incorporated the same oak hardwood floors, refinished to a deep, rich stain.
New doors were replicated to match the nearly 80-year-old originals, and hand-troweled plasterwork was applied around the arches added throughout the home, ensuring a seamless blend of old and new.
